Download: Anathallo Interview & Live Performance (Podcast #1)

[28.2 MB, 30 min.]

KTCU is proud to bring you our first band interview/performance session available in podcast (mp3) format!

Nationally touring indie-rock collective Anathallo stopped by the KTCU studio on July 18th for an interview and live performance, complete with trombone, dumpster-retrieved drum kit, two sets of bells, guitars, and a bevy of other unique instruments. They blend their style of folk-rock into a well-balanced large ensemble sound, pitch-perfect in a stripped-down live set here at KTCU.

Anathallo discusses their origins, musical methods, the recent album Floating World, getting in touch with fans, and their guilty pop music pleasures. After the interview, they performed four songs from Floating World:
1. Genessaret
2. Hanasakajijii (four: a great wind, more ash)
3. Hanasakajijii (one: the angry neighbor)
4. Cuckoo Spitting Blood
Anathallo recently performed at the Gypsy Tea Room and is currently touring with The Format, Rainer Maria, and Street to Nowhere.
